Jules likes how Maddy's face lights up when she sees her. She also likes how smooth and refined her dark hair is, and how it feels between her fingers as she twirls it. It always fell back in place. She likes how her face dims into a warm glow as she does so. Like she wasn't afraid to show how she enjoys her company.
But then, sometimes.
Sometimes, when they spent the night, with heat and little to no distance between their bodies, she feels overwhelmed. And on mornings after, where Maddy gazes at her with so much love that she feels like she will burst from suffocation. Then, finally, on a hazy morning, Maddy Perez's dainty silhouette flickers to the one of a girl. With broader shoulders and very much wilder, unruly curls. And Jules feels disgusted.
