Kindom Hearts' Leon and Cloud come to the world of Final Fantasy VII Remake/Rebirth at the behest of the spirit of Aeris from Final Fnatasy VII OG to make important changes to the timeline. “Yes,” she whispers, her throat tightening around the word. To be so vulnerable in front of him feels like she’s coughing out her organs into his hands. “I do.”
He opens his eyes, and he looks at her. Midgar’s stars bleed into his irises, the perfect, frigid blue of them.
“I wish I wasn’t here,” he says softly. “I wish I could disappear.”
