Summary
In ancient times, a woman who had committed the worst of the crimes against the gods was punished with an ancient curse so feared that she was the only one it was ever used on. It is said that should she ever rise, she would unleash her vengeance upon the earth. Her resting place and prison far beneath the sands of deep in the desert is guarded to this day by those sworn to ensure she never be released, no matter the cost.
Four thousand years later, a seemingly innocent relic leads Capsize and Redbeard to discover a map to the ancient city of Hamunaptra that’s said to hold all the riches of the ancient kings and the legendary Book of Life. Alongside Sonja, the soldier who originally found the relic before having it stolen from her, the two make it their mission to find the ancient city.
Unbeknownst to them, this journey is far more dangerous than they ever could’ve imagined, and their pursuits may doom not only themselves but the entire world.

and Lady Sonja - Goddess of the Deep Dark and SecretsHowever, though mostly forgotten to mortals, only a few short centuries ago another pair of gods ruled with the rest: Lady Capsize, Goddess of Fortune and Lord Redbeard, God of Misfortune. The twin deities disappeared without a trace - a tragedy grieved by their fellow gods as years begun to pass without any hint of their reappearances.
However, their disappearance was not quite as much of a mystery to all their fellow gods as they would let on to the world.

It was supposed to be a harmless joke; one Redbeard had made probably a thousand times before of a nonsense ability that his sister apparently possessed. Truly, if he thought there was any danger to his words, that they would put Capsize at any risk, he would not have said them.
However, when this joke of Capsize being able to spin straw into gold attracts the attention of the local tyrant, there is nothing he can do to stop her being dragged off towards her likely execution. Now desperate to fix his mistake, he heads into the woods hoping the local fae may be able to help his sister, no matter what a deal with one may cost him.
