"He's not just Roger's son," she had tutted, picking out the hibiscus flower in her hair and gently tucking it behind Ace's ear, "this is my baby too, Garp, and don't let anyone forget that, especially not Ace,"
Garp had blinked, then laughed uproariously. Of course! Portgas D. Rouge would never allow herself to be sidelined, not in life nor death.

“OOOW- what the- GRANDPA?!” Luffy shouts. One of his hands shoot out protectively against more hits, the other continues to hold his nose, blood dripping between his fingers. He still hasn’t visually confirmed it was his grandfather, but he really didn’t need to.
“I’m not sure why you’re acting so surprised.” Garp starts, and oh, he sounds furious. “You had to have know I’d show up eventually, after rumors of you MURDERING MY BEST FRIEND started to circulate.”
