Summary
Angered by the lack of improvements in their conditions of service and the way they are treated by their white officers, the soldiers in the Force publique of Congo go into full-blown mutiny days after the new republic's declaration of independence. White officers and Belgian nationals are victims of acts of violence as well as Europeans in general, as law and order collapse in the capital city. The Congolese decide it's payback time after 80 years under colonial rule.

This is the story of two orphaned brothers in Colonial America during the witch trials. One of them falls in love with a real witch.
Inspired by lore from The Owl House, this is my own personal retelling of the story between Caleb and Philip Wittebane and the witch, Evelyn Clawthorne.
After nearly 15 hours of researching Colonial America and the Salem Witch Trials, this story has long since departed from the original limited narrative from The Owl House. As such, I've changed the characters names, and will be adding a lot of my own elements. However, the core theme still remain the same.

The fragile peace of a world without the Avatar is felt plainly. Although the Hundred Years War is over, and Iroh reigns as Fire Lord, many who supported Ozai during his usurpation of the throne push against his more tolerant and peaceful intentions. He is an older man now, and with his son unable to fight in the field and show himself as a powerful leader, his nephew Zuko is in line for the throne.
There is tension in the courts. Azula lives, and though officially pardoned, no one is certain she can be trusted with the reins of power again.
There is danger in the Fire Nation and its colonies, and whispers from the underground of Ba Sing Se that will pull the Four Nations into War once more.
If Prince Zuko is to unite the Fire Nation and aim it to a better future and peace, he'll need a wife more righteous than he. Even if she comes from the Water Tribe.

She longs to escape the identity imposed by the empire but is full of doubts about regaining her status as a “free person” due to past brainwashing and painful memories. In the novel, I try to express the internal conflict of people in a post-colonial situation—even after gaining freedom, the shadow of oppression still profoundly affects their self-identity. In front of the monument, Livia tries to re-adopt her original name “Una,” a process that symbolizes the oppressed's re-discovery and acceptance of their identity in the post-colonial period.
