Summary
During the confrontation on Noveria, Matriarch Benezia is prevented from killing Liara by a timely Charge from Aethyta. As it turns out, Aethyta had never stopped keeping an eye on Liara and Benezia after the latter walked out. Benezia’s insane actions have concerned and infuriated Aethyta enough to forcefully intervene with Benezia’s seemingly random spiral into insanity.
Now poor Liara has to deal with having an overprotective Aethyta interfering with her life. Femshep has the unfortunate luck of refereeing her ‘almost but not quite’ girlfriend’s parents’ marital spats. Benezia is fighting the terrible influence of indoctrination while trying to deal with the fallout of her bonding with Aethyta that still lingers to this day. Aethyta is… well, Aethyta.

OMEGAVERSE AU: The Normandy is docking at Omega for a supply run just before they jump halfway across the galaxy to investigate a derelict Reaper. Shepard and Garrus take advantage of some alone time, but it has unintentional consequences. Looks like they ran into some of that horrible interspecies awkwardness they were so worried about at the beginning of their relationship.

The excitement after defeating the reapers had come and gone, as fast as a humming bird. Shepard would tell Garrus that a humming bird was her favorite earth animal, though he had nothing to compare it to. Metallic, Grey Palaven, where even the animals were covered in plates and spikes.
Shepard was in a far worse state, half her body burned, mostly her arms, with tiny little cuts and pieces of metal inside. The scouts that Garrus had been ordered to take and find Shepard the second he had medigel smeared on his own injuries. [He actually begged to go out and find her. A turian begging to find a human. Spirits. He was over the moons for her.]
