Summary
When the Federation Starship U.S.S. Voyager encounters a dangerous spatial anomaly while traveling in the Delta Quadrant, Starfleet Ensigns Tabitha Paige and Edward Walker are thrown into a time and place that resembles the 12th-century Levant on Earth. Cut off from their ship indefinitely and their resources limited, the two friends must find a way to survive in what soon appears to be their permanent new home. Transcripts of the recordings taken by Jayce Talis, self-proclaimed paranormal investigator and explorer of abandoned places, committed to tape during the two years before his allegedly anomalous disappearance. These tapes have been transcribed in order to preserve all evidence of the case in the event of the VHS tapes being destroyed or damaged beyond repair. At the moment of writing, Jayce Talis’ case remains unsolved and the Council continues to investigate the events surrounding his disappearance.

"I'll pay you no mind unless you're a good tool in the moment. I'll use you. Forget it ever happned. Rinse and repeat. Just like always," he explains.
"That's not what you did, though," she mutters under her breath like she's praying something will hear her and drill it into Jax's head on her behalf. "That's not what you did."

After their fallout, Pomni notices Jax is struggling and isolating himself more. Every attempt to approach him just leads to encounters with increasingly concerning behaviors.
The two, after running into each other, accidentally find a certain, unknown bug in this purgatory game. What appears to have just been visual actually caused them to find something that gave them a lot more control than they used to.

Jax and Pomni glitch themselves into a discovery by pure chance. They agree to keep it a secret until they can fully understand its purpose.
This only ends up showing Pomni first-hand the true state of a certain someone's mental wellbeing, and just how willing they are to do something drastic.
