Summary
In the aftermath of the Great War, Hot Rod leads a ragtag crew of Autobots aboard the Starburst—Blurr, Arcee, Kup, Springer, Wheelie, and Ultra Magnus—on a desperate search through deep space for the missing Ark and the long-lost Optimus Prime. Hunted relentlessly by Cyclonus and his warship, the Oblivion, and stalked by the bounty hunter Deadlock—who’s determined to drag them back to Cybertron for Shockwave’s reward. When they uncover an encrypted SOS from Optimus himself, they set off on a chase across the galaxy.

“I’m just making sure your head is in this youngling,” and the confusion slips through into his field. Kup hasn’t called him that in countless solar cycles. Kup turns his optics onto Springer, “I’m making sure you ain’t going into this with a bloated processor and a clouded idea of what you’re working with.”
Springer stares back into his optics. He inhales slowly before asking, “And what is your diagnosis, captain?”
Kup smirks at him, taking the cigar out of his mouth, “All I can see is a mech who has this planned out and seemingly knows what his team is doing. I see you’re prepared, Springer. I wanted you to know that.”
Springer feels like his processor is about to fry itself. This whole back and forth has been an appraisal?
“I think I may feel proud of you Springer,” Kup smirks as he says it, “and I know your creator would be if he saw you know. You got your head on straight in the face of your first mission in charge and by Primus you’re confident in your squad”

She seeks aid from her tactician, Prowl, whose proposed solution is as rationally sound as it is utterly unforgiving.
Optimus is characterized as young and callow in this narrative, compared to the majority of Autobots who have already endured millennia of conflict. She is decidedly too young for the leader.
Consequently, the relationship between Optimus and the Autobots is not smooth. You have been warned.

Jazz had never expected for one of his cousins and bonded to pass away one cold evening, leaving behind a pair of splitspark twins. He knew of them, had met them once or twice, but when the rest of his family began to pass them over and over again, he knew he need to step in.
The only problem is that his work is only willing to wait for so long. He needs to go back. He works weird hours.
He needs a babysitter.
Prowl hated that running was the only option he had. He needed to get away, but with his certifications to become an enforcers around the corner, he thought he could hold on. When push comes to shove, he knows he needs to start over. He has no credentials, his Academy credits won't transfer, and his skillset is incredibly limited.
He needs a job.
