A year has passed since the defeat of Luther and the rebirth of the universe. In the 4D world he remains comatose, with Blair taking over his duties as Owner.
Fayt has been having a difficult time adjusting to life on earth especially after learning the truth of the universe. Even though the universe is free from a tyrant like Luther he still doesn't feel like this freedom has been earned or if it matters. Since the final battle he's grown more and more reclusive, even around Sophia who has been trying to help him out as best she can. During an outing to help him get out of his shell a little more she is reached out to by someone she never expected to hear from again.
