Summary
Xie Lian thinks his new life in the big city is gonna be great and full of wonder, but when he accidentally injures a high ranking courtesan which causes her to quit, he is now weighted with a crushing debt as he now has to work at the brothel by singing and dancing to avoid becoming a courtesan. Luckily, he runs into the Madame’s brother, who he becomes friends with and he teaches him all about herbs and medicine, and becomes the brothels doctor.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t avoid his bad luck forever, and he was kidnapped by thugs while hunting and sold as a servant to wealthy lord in ghost city. But why does this particular lord insist on giving him such special treatment when he’s just a servant?

“I was hoping we could skip ahead a little bit…” Xie Lian mumbled, his hands coming up to caress Hua Cheng's faces, his thumb rubbing soft circles under his one good eye. Hua Cheng's brow creased into a confused frown as he leaned down to meet Xie Lian's lips once again, his next few words coming through the breaks of each gentle kiss.
“Gege, what's with the rush today?” Hua Cheng always took his time to savor and worship his god in the bedroom, so he wasn't complaining about skipping to the good part… but it almost felt wrong.
“Ah, San Lang is going to make me say it out loud then…” Xie Lian sighed out as Hua Cheng started working down his neck again, biting and sucking territorial marks all along his god's beautiful neck. Soft red spots standing out against brilliant white jade skin.
“...tonight.” Xie Lian gasped, gently tugging Hua Cheng back from his nipples again. Earning himself another disappointed groan.
“Tonight I was hoping San Lang would give me a baby..”

Summary
Alas, to yearn for someone is among the most debilitating of afflictions.

Summary
The night is exceptionally cold on Xie Lian's skin as he walks on the side of the road towards Puqi Shrine. A few lanterns are lit still, hanging from old wooden nails on the outer walls of houses. The village is comfortably quiet at the middle of the night. Normally it would be a good thing, but after all that happened Xie Lian couldn't find peace in it. He feels such complex emotions, it makes him dizzy. All he can think about is the color red... Hua Cheng.
Back at the shrine he takes out two shiny dice from his robes and holds them in his pale hands. "This is rather stupid..." He thinks to himself with a small smile, then rolls the dice. Snake eyes, of course.
Xie Lian sighs, not knowing why did he even try to "summon" Hua Cheng just like before. He just has a lot on his mind. He still has to apologize to him properly and say thank you for helping him. So, the crown prince decides to find him the following morning. Little does he know, this will be the start of his troubles...
