It had seemed like the obvious answer when Zolf was stood in Wilde's makeshift office and far away from the potential ally they were discussing. In this brave new world of constant distrust and wariness, the week of probation followed by a visual inspection had become an understood necessity, and rarely did Zolf encounter someone who displayed more than the usual mild discomfort with the task. To put it plainly, things like modesty don't matter quite so much when facing the ever-present fear that a trusted ally may just turn and kill you in your sleep.

Charles Smith falls in love with Arthur Morgan in the winter. He does it the same way he does everything else in his life. He falls in love with Arthur quietly.
The two men are riding out of their frozen camp into the frozen wilderness to hunt enough game to feed the 30 hungry mouths at camp. Charles has never considered himself a cold-hearted man, but Arthur softens his heart in a way he didn't think was possible.
Or, Charles and Arthur are on a hunting trip in Colter, but instead of a quick trip they stop to stay the night.
I suck at summaries and tagging but idk I tried my best. This is just dumb cowboys being gay and having trauma.
