It's a terrible feeling... but it's also a little wonderful too, because it's Takumi. Only Takumi could make him feel like this. Could make him feel so disgusted, yet so enthralled. His lips curl around a smile. At the very least, he gets this much. To know what it's like to feel the warmth of someone's hand, directly interlaced in his own.
As the pain ripples through his body in waves, and his blood seeps into his Class Armor... he finds comfort, here.
He takes some strange form of comfort, in being surrounded by this awful smell. Something so dreadfully Takumi that even the sense of nausea it brings, is something he clings to. The repulsive feeling etched into every line of his body is proof, proof beyond every lie embedded into him - proof that Eito is not alone. Takumi is here, with him. Takumi is holding his hand, cradling his body in his arms. Proof that calms something deep inside of him, something small and frightened and yearning for companionship.
Haha... How ridiculous. Has he always been like this ...?
Eito feels the warmth of Takumi's hand, clasped against his own.

Eito clicks his tongue lightly, expression indiscernible. “...You brought me a bunch of toys,” he says, audibly baffled.
“They’re... they’re plushies,” Takumi mumbles. Karua was always a stickler for the difference.
“Toys,” Eito ‘corrects’ him.
Takumi gives Eito way too many plushies. It doesn't go as well as he'd hoped, but... hey, why is he doing this, anyway? It's not like he's ever liked the guy...
Eito doesn't know what's wrong, but what he does know is that it's making his life a lot more boring.

His eyes squeezed shut, bracing for whatever reaction was coming his way. Maybe Eito would launch at him and strangle him on the spot, or bash his skull into the floor until he stopped moving.
But when he opened them...
The sight before him had completely stopped him from feeling even an ounce of regret.

Takumi knows the truth about Eito - how could he not, after he speared him through the heart with his betrayal? The Eito he thought he knew in his first timeline did not exist. It was a well-crafted facade, puppeteered by a masterful hand. And yet, despite how utterly and inanely stupid he feels for feeling this way... he just couldn't bring himself to believe it as entirely false. Because he sees those mannerisms, those habits and interests and likes and dislikes in this Eito. Maybe it was all a performance on a stage, but the actor was real.
Everything he went through was real to him. All that time he spent with that past Eito, all those feelings he had felt, everything he'd learnt about Eito - it was tangible, it was wonderful and devastating- it was... it was...
...
Takumi Sumino is haunted by the version of Eito Aotsuki that no longer exists.

Sometimes, he wakes up crying.
It's a silent sort of affair - he just lies there for the most part, too tired to make any sounds. The Eito he knows would mock him for it. He'd have said all kinds of scalding words about what an ugly, repulsive human being he was. This one doesn't.
Instead, Takumi tenses up as he feels Eito's fingers card through his hair. His touch is cautious. The way you'd pet a stray cat that doesn't quite trust you yet.
Takumi reaches the end of the endurance match, and gets sent back in time to his last decision.

But Takumi is a human. An awful, terrible, vile human being. A human determined to subject himself to that kind of pain, to the point where he'd seek out even worse methods when he was getting used to it - just to try and get rid of him. With no guarantee that it would work, but just as a final desperate last gambit. The very thought makes his skin crawl.
There was nothing normal about this boy. And yet, Eito finds himself missing that bright determination burning deep inside of his nemesis. Because, and he'd admit it readily at this point, this wasn't how he wanted to see him.
Sometimes, he tries to hug Takumi. He mimics the feeling of his arms wrapping around him, squeezing him - as if Eito could force the scattered pieces of him back together if he just held him tightly enough.
After the endurance match, Takumi is sent back to the last decision he'd made. His memories remain intact. Eito takes it upon himself to deal with the consequences.

"I am Shingetsu…" Vector repeats the other boy quietly. He can't believe this. Yuuma still thinks he's Shingetsu? Still?
"Right, you're Shingetsu!" The fucking idiot still believes in that pantomime of an act and he sounds like he's actually happy that Vector is finally catching up to Yuuma's own expectations sounding so very confident and encouraging. It's making Vector want to destroy the other boy even worse. "So start over as yourself, Shingetsu!"

Summary
Despite himself, his cheeks begin to color faintly. The temperature has gotten low enough that he can blame the wind, but somehow, since everything eased into this repetitive everyday, Yuma has developed a flawless talent for reading Vector like a book. It frustrates the hell out of him, especially since he can’t do the reverse. Even if he could, though, Vector doubts he’d understand any of it.
