Summary
My version of what should have happened when Sherlock came back.
Sherlock fell off a building and John fell into depression. This work will explore the pain of losing someone and the pain of getting him back.
Warnings: There will be angst, there will be emotional hurt, and there are many references to death, suicide/suicide ideation, self-harm, therapy, psychotropic medications, and explicit content. But this will have a happy Johnlock ending, the one we deserved but never got in the show.

Summary
In this world, 99.999% of omegas are bio females and 100% of bio females are omegas. There are alpha males and beta males. Beta males can’t breed, only alpha males can breed. Betas can fuck, can come, but are sterile. Sherlock thinks he’s a beta (he’s sterile after all), there are many things about him that belong in one .001% or another.

Disclaimer: This is my interpretation of the omegaverse, i.e., a fictional universe made up by horny internet people. I’m not electing to follow the “usual” rules of said universe, offering instead a subtler, more nuanced approach. Like, let’s pretend that millennia of evolution have diminished some of the more “animalistic” features of the omegaverse.
Things you won’t find in this fic: bonding via bites, scent/scenting, obvious/painful heats, overt dom/sub, breasts, slick, litters, class roles governed by presentation.

Mysteries, angst, pining, communication, miscommunication, fluff, smut... yum
A slow burn exploration of human sexuality, gender identity, and the intricacies of emotion. This is a story in which John and Sherlock have been living and solving crimes together for two years. Think of the vibes in "A Study in Pink/Scarlett." Two people, becoming more comfortable with one another over the years. Nothing too intense, nothing too complex, nothing too dangerous. This work focuses more on the domesticity of their lives as flatmates and how they navigate their tentative friendship.
I was fascinated by the concept of Sherlock flat out not understanding sexuality and gender identity. Like a heliocentric universe, these topics have historically been of no use and thus disposable. Until now, especially with a super strain of STIs plaguing London and a sexually frustrated flatmate.
Note: This is all for fun. Not trying to craft anything too spectacular; just playing around with concepts and a relationship I love to love. Also, I rarely edit before I post so, I apologise in advance and implore you to please disregard any small typos or errors. I am an editor/writer by day so the last thing I want to do is more work.

With a bit of smut to come, of course. Loosely inspired by ATYD by MsKingBean89, primarily the personalities, traits, and relationships established within her story.
This is just for fun and to help me process the heartbreak that is ATYD. Purposefully, I have yet to read any "Sirius and Remus raise Harry" works, but I apologize if I accidentally mimic anyone else's work.

In a world that can be so cold and cruel, it's a lovely thing to get lost in daydreams about two fictional men who deserved so much more than they got. Or maybe it's mental illness, whatever.
John Watson and Sherlock Holmes are married and living happily with their two children. Precocious four-year-old Alice Watson-Holmes is starting reception at a school for gifted children, while two-month-old Rhys keeps his daddies busy at home.
Might have some drama, might not. We'll see how it goes :) Feedback and storyline suggestions much appreciated.
