Summary
Stephen Strange was a doctor who got defenestrated and broke his hands. And he's not even joking. So when he learns that nothing will save his hands and he will never be able to operate again, he uses his stubbornness and is told about a mystical place in the Himalayas: Kamar-Taj.
Tony Stark was never Iron Man. He was never a hero, never anything except 'genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist'. Tony Stark was told that he is going to die. He doesn't want to die so, after hearing about the mysterious 'Kamar-Taj' from an employee, he decides to give it a shot.
When the two meet, they start to form a close friendship and eventually, they fall for the other. Hard. But hypothermia, ancient magical threats, their own stubbornness, childhood trauma, and society itself threaten to tear their friendship apart.
Fortunately, things happen and the universe decides that yes, they should get together in the end.
**Disclaimer: half of this fic was written in 2022 and the other half was written in 2025 after I had an accidental three year hiatus between chapters 19 and 20**

The casual intimacy combined with the domesticity of the entire scene crept its way into his heart and mind and screamed at him to stay. It was intoxicating, the way John’s hand would tilt his chin up to get a better angle to wipe the blood from his cheek, his thumb running along his bottom lip as he did so.
Sherlock no longer had to hide from John, as he had made it quite clear to him that he was just as obsessed with Sherlock as Sherlock was with him.
