Robin was hardly scared of anyone or anything.

Summary
"Huh, so I guess it kind of comes in phases? He relents and then gets strict again?" Duke muses.
Dick and Jason have wrapped up by now. Dick makes his way over to the bench where Duke is sitting and grabs a towel and water bottle. "What do you mean?" Dick asks after taking a swig of water.
"I mean, you were in Blüdhaven a few years ago, right? And those reports were completely sparse. And then the ones from more recently have more detail again," Duke clarifies.
Dick freezes. It's minuscule, doesn't even last a second before his body language relaxes again, but Duke notices. He really is getting better at this whole vigilante-detective thing.

An innocent question leaves Dick spiraling and the rest of the family grappling as they discover more about the Golden Child.

Ugh. Little brothers. They’re the worst. "Okay, fine, I'll bite. Why are you here then?"
"I can't just sit here? Is that illegal now?"
“In Bruce’s study?”
Jason just looks at him.
“Jason.” Dick walks up to the desk, suspiciously peering around.
Jason jerks and attempts to get in his way, but Dick is quick and fully willing to vault over his brother. Only, Jason immediately latches onto him, and the momentum sends them stumbling back, knocking into the desk.
...
It's a good thing Jason stopped him, for right behind the desk, where Dick would've landed, is a swirling void.
“What the fuck?” Dick sputters. “No, seriously, what the fuck?”

Summary
Some lunatic in a bat costume is running around Gotham clowning on fools, but local delinquent Stephanie Brown has way bigger problems. When her father and friends start joining mob wars Steph knows she has to do something about it before Gotham collapses. If that means joining up with rich dudes playing dress up, pasty nerds with hacking and photography habits, and throwing on a costume herself, then that’s just what she’ll have to do. Even if Batman works alone. She’s convincing.
In which Stephanie Brown rocks the radical nineties and becomes the first Robin, ruining Batman’s life and giving Tim Drake a hobby.

This was absolutely devastatingly beautiful. I’m such a sucker for a fic that goes in depth on Dick’s Romani heritage. I just want to hug this little boy and promise him that it will get better. That someday he’ll live in Bludhaven and get to go to Romani restaurants. He’ll be able to dig up some of those old circus connections. So many things will get better, even if some terrible things will inevitably happen too.

"“God, Bruce, it’s like he isn’t even me.” To his horror, Jason can feel tears prickle behind his eyes. “It’s - it’s like Robin is this other person, and I can never, ever be him again, no matter how hard I try.”

“He’s not real, B! And the parts of him that were? They’re fucking me! And - and I don’t - I don’t know how to get you to see that.”"
Such a bittersweet catharsis in this one. Love this flavor of Jason angst.
