Someone was watching him.
Cold, paralyzing panic swept his body, holding him hostage against the sweat-soaked bedding. What was he doing? He had to move. He is trained for this…no, he used to be trained to fight through panic and fear.
Now, he was a damsel, held hostage by his own creation. His blanket, once soft and safe, was now a crushing slab of concrete pinning him on his back. The once calming and light sheets now clung to his leg like a chain ready to drag him out to sea. He was sinking, drowning on dry land, hearing the howling of the ocean cup over his ears as his heartbeat steadily grew louder than his shallow breath. His eyes remain sealed shut, even as tears and sweat trickled down the sides of his face. The paralyzed blindness was his only safety in the face of his conjured fear.

When he wakes up again, it’s to a whole group of people, most of which are noisy and loud.
He lies there in the soft blanket for a minute, taking in the details of a hospital room, and noting the IV going into the crook of his elbow. He attempts to sit up, wincing when it pulls at the mess of his chest.
There’s an odd weight on one of his legs, and there’s a fluffy...creature resting on it, curled into his side. It’s warm.
The room goes quiet all of a sudden, and he finds himself staring back at an odd assortment of people.

The corners of his mouth twitch. “What?”
“Yes,” Jimin repeats. “My boyfriend. His name is...” Jimin finds the stranger’s foot with his own and steps on it gently, crushing the toe of his chunky sneaker under his Chelsea boot.
“Jungkook,” the man says, and it sounds like he’s choking back a laugh. “My name is Jungkook.”
