Summary
When an overactive Rift disgorges a strange alien artifact into the living room of Dr. Gregory House, Torchwood must travel to New Jersey to track it down. But what starts as a routine expedition quickly goes bad when a member of Torchwood comes down with a mysterious illness. Suddenly, aliens are invading the hospital and the teams from Cardiff and Princeton-Plainsboro find themselves in the middle of a war across time and space that will ultimately determine the fate of the universe itself.

Objectively, Romana knows this; subjectively, it's a lot harder to remember that every variation of you has it just as bad when the Daleks are breaking through your defenses earlier than you had ever planned for.
Fortunately, Romana also knows the value of a backup plan. There is a select group of people, most Earth humans but some not, who, if brought together, could bring down the Daleks.
