    “What’re you pouting for, Bal?” he teases, slinging his mechanical arm over his shoulders, his fingers tracing Ballister’s own metallic prosthesis.

    Ballister rolls his eyes, though he also smiles and leans into Ambrosius’s warmth. “I’m not pouting. Just missing her.”

    Ambrosius nods, and kisses him on the cheek. “I wish I had gotten to know her,” he whispers.
