He’d turned over and slept off his bad mood for another half hour.
That was how Andrew had ended up twenty minutes late to Ivan’s funeral.

Summary
He should run away. Just turn tail on this conversation and run. What did he care what this person thought of him? But like a riptide he felt himself caught in an inevitable plummet towards complete humiliation. He could do nothing to stop it. Any vestige of control had already been lost long before this moment.
He found himself saying, “I’m not usually like this,” one hand gestured vaguely to the bathrobe, his hair. "My ceiling caved in. And then I got locked out.”
OR—
On the worst day of his entire adult life, Nox finds himself in his bathrobe in the grocery store facing the cutest boy he has ever met. He will never recover from this.

Summary
When Chase and Deacon find a mysterious book at the museum library, they assume it has something to do with Ex Libris. What they are not prepared for, however, are more mysteries than they can count—the circumstances surrounding the death of a kidnapped princess, Buddy’s adamant refusal to tell them anything about the story, and, strangest of all, some familiar faces… inside the pages of the book.
NOTES:
⚘ This fanfiction was written between Episode 41 and the Season 1/2 hiatus. Lore was incorporated as it was revealed in canon, however I also ensured the story stayed consistent.
⚘ KAPT revolves around the assumption that Buddy has been working for Ex Libris and going into books for the majority of his life. The plot was not created when there was anything in canon to prove differently.
⚘ The first chapter is somewhat disjointed from the remainder of the fic in terms of genre. The genre is Historical Fantasy.
⚘ All twelve keys are included in this fic with what we know of them from Season One.
⚘ The keys are people, too.Series

this thing will invite you home, give you the best warm tea you’ve ever had, strangle you with a curtain, kiss you lovingly and then set you on fire.
10/10 read.
This tastes like Margret de Canard à l’Orange.

Summary
After the disaster that was the Cinderella book, Chase and Deacon want a calmer story that will give them a chance to talk with Buddy and sort out enough key-related details to avoid THAT ever happening again. Deacon leaves Chase a stack of books with mundane plots to choose from.
Chase chooses the wrong book.

Have you ever witnessed someone drown without leaving shore?
This fic has only just begun at the time of writing this, and I recommend you climb aboard as the plot sails. Things are going to get wildly interesting.
Ultimately, it beckons you to answer this question: Could you lose yourself in thoughts that aren’t yours?

Summary
The symptoms of chronic intestinal failure: vomiting, abdominal pain, physical weakness, malnutrition. The symptoms of malnutrition: decreased muscle strength, fatigue, and appetite loss.
After three long, tedious years of being stuck in the same hospital bed, Nox decided he was done. Done with the doctors, and the needles, and the endless onslaught of hope. Done with all of it. At this point, the only thing he looked for was death.
Death, and that cute boy with the smile.

Bookmarker's Notes
This is the definition of catharsis.
This is a religious experience.
This is everything and how it feels like to die while the world insists you’re alive.
Incredible prose. Fantastic characterisation. Immensely tactful and accurate tackling of a variety of difficult topics. This is simply amazing. I cannot recommend this enough.
