The mental checklist grows and gets revised until Veritas can breathe again and he knows exactly what to do. Satisfied, he throws the sheet back over Aventurine. Shelter has to come first. He can't— won't— leave Aventurine's side until he believes this will be a safe area. The place is too exposed to work for a long term shelter, but it will suffice for now. At least until Aventurine is able to walk again.
One last breath. And now it's time for him to work.
[After the events of Rota Fortunae, Veritas tasks himself with the important mission of repairing Aventurine. But even when the android is back online, there seems to be something wrong with his coding. Will Veritas be able to fix Aventurine before he hurts himself or others?]

Summary
Veritas could barely get through his shower, like his body was working against him. He wouldn't let it win. He had made those plans with Kakavasha. He was going to see it through.
But his sides ached painfully with each cough, and before he could even process it Veritas had fallen to his knees by the toilet. He got the lid open just in time as bile traveled up his throat. A horrible retching sound echoed throughout his bathroom as he steadied himself with a hand on the counter. None of it helped his aching sides, which now ached more from the pressure.

Summary
It's been a few weeks since the last time they were both at home and had the energy to have sex, and they were both just a little pent up. So, when Aventurine brought up the idea of roleplay and came up with a scenario, Veritas found himself agreeing to it.
The idea of a student/teacher roleplay had somewhat intrigued him, if only because of how Aventurine's eyes lit up when he suggested it.

He tilts his head to look at Rook, beady little eyes still visible in the darkness despite the rest of its blobby form blending in. "What do you get for a man who has all the material wealth and extravagances he can afford?" he asks the cake cat. Rook, with all of its elegance, makes a tiny mrrp and closes its eyes.
It seems Ratio will have to plan alone.

Eiji (and everyone who isn't a. dead or b. a complete dumpster fire of a human being) rescues Ash from Golzine's disgustingly filthy fingers, but then Ash decides to accept Eiji's offer to go to Japan with him. There, he meets Eiji's mother (the physical embodiment of motherly love, who really should be asking more questions, but doesn't because of how she met her husband), his sister (a genius-IQ NEET who only leaves the house under extreme duress), his father (an international businessman who prefers to release moths outside instead of killing them), the owner of a nearby family restaurant (who would appreciate it if someone could help him out during the tourist season), and many other wonderful friends! The question quickly becomes: How does an ex-gang leader with a kill count likely in the triple digits adjust to normal, suburban life in Japan?
