Summary
The Hatchetfield Renegades, the elusive biker-gang, have set up shop in the abandoned roller-rink. They were a small gang, but what they lacked in numbers they made up with in reputation. Stopwatch, on the Yamaha YZF-R7 HO, is by far the fastest of the four, earning him his name. Spitfire, on the Honda CB500 Hornet, is known for her performative flair, and thanks to the mechanic and fuel chemist, is able to push her beast to the max. Tinker on the Suzuki V-Strom 650XT, ever focused on optimising the energy output as the fuel chemist, is half the reason why the squad has gained their infamy: hard to keep up with them if you don’t have what they’re running on. Finally, founder and mechanic of the group on the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, Hogweed, otherwise known by some as Ethan Green, is the only one who knows the actual names of the other three in their little troupe.
Daniel Lipschitz, Sophia King, and Peter Spankoffski need an outlet. Who are they to deny Ethan’s offer? But life has a way of getting messy when people try juggling more than one identity.

After escaping one tragic circumstance after another, the foster sisters finally found their promised happily ever after somewhere west of everything they'd ever known. California meant big cities, sandy beaches, and the kind of blue sky that didn't feel like it was watching you back. Lex had the wheel. Hannah had the passenger seat and a hollow space where something important used to be. They were going to make it. They were so close to making it. And then they needed groceries.
Omega Mart appeared to be just another typical big-box store from the outside—fluorescent, uninspiring, the kind of place you visit and quickly forget. However, inside, the products had unusual names that didn’t quite make sense, advertisements played on a continuous loop like a surreal dream, and the freezer aisle vibrated with an energy that seemed otherworldly. Hannah noticed these oddities, but Lex did not. Amidst the tattooed rotisserie chickens and the blaring emergency alarms, one sister disappeared completely, leaving the other alone in a store that insisted she had come in by herself.
