Sequel to The Coward's Secret.Gobber could not help but smile at how the heirloom bridal crown lightened her whole face up, bringing out the best of colours to match her deer-like emerald eyes, so similar to the Chief’s. The brunette hair, loose and free as it would not be seen after the wedding, coiled around her face in the most poignant way, so much like Hela, accentuating the faint red of her cheeks and lips. The finest of fur for the finest of women, hunted by her own father. The sparkle of the brooches did not level up the one in her eyes, determined and filled with barely contained excitement. It almost made Gobber shed another tear.
“Thor almighty,” he spoke, breathless, “what a sight fer sore eyes ya are, lass.”
Now Gobber understood what Stoick had told him about nostalgia, of time going by and seeing Hela grow.
Hela huffed and rolled her eyes, the smile never disappearing from her face. “Yeah, yeah, whatever. Let’s go.”
“Aye.” Gobber nodded, picking up the gift for the groom —a sword made by Hela herself, demonstrating her craftsmanship. “They are waiting fer us.”
