Each lightsaber, if you listened closely, had a different sound to it. Eeko said that was her own gift, though she couldn’t fathom how it’d be useful. Nonetheless, she picked up on it like breathing. Her master’s saber carried a slight rasp to it, echoing the years it’d been through, and her own sliced through the air with a certain hiss that mirrored her ferociousness.
But that?
That lightsaber carried the sound of death. Of distant screams, silenced as the sword would cut clean through bodies. Of revenge.
In which I retell Maul: Shadow Lord and make Maul be like a dad to Devon. Because I can.
