As she stepped up to the altar, as she handed away the Purah Pad, as she raised her secret stone to her lips – she knew. Living as an immortal dragon meant living without the essence of herself. Her mind and heart would have to be surrendered fully, and she would never get it back. It was a death, but one so abstract and unthinkable that she doubted it was widely seen as one. It was a point of no return.
But it was. And she did.
She does not know what to do with the life she has been granted when she had resolved herself to never grasp it again.
