In this AU Eddie and Marisol broke up after she moved out, the Kim debacle never happened and Christopher never went to Texas. Buck didn’t call Tommy after their first date disaster, so he’s not in this. (But I like to think they’re still friends!)

And yeah, maybe the ring on his finger sort of burned when he looked at her sometimes, even though it was just for show, now.
It was just easier to let her keep thinking he was still married to Abby. Safer.
It raised less eyebrows about the nature of their friendship when the ring stayed on while he was at work, the weight on his finger reminding him not to say or do anything stupid.
It also made it a little less creepy when the pet names started slipping out.

It’s a feral, tabby cat that’s scared of humans and it’s composed of a montage of how it gradually starts to trust its foster family, turning from lonely and distrustful to loving and happy. It’s too cute not to share and Tommy watches the video, before smiling and looking up at Buck like he knows something Buck doesn’t.
