The Halloween Eddie we deserved, mustache first.
Or: The firefam attends a Queer Icons themed Halloween party! Costumes are worn, feelings ensue, confessions are made.
In this AU Eddie and Marisol broke up after she moved out, the Kim debacle never happened and Christopher never went to Texas. Buck didn’t call Tommy after their first date disaster, so he’s not in this. (But I like to think they’re still friends!)

Summary
Evan “Buck” Buckley was not an honest person as much as he would like to be or even was trying to be in his own way. His dishonesty wasn’t malicious in the slightest though. He had his reasons, of course, but his entire identity was built on a shaky Jenga tower of lies. As much as he built it up, one by one the blocks were still removed over the years making the tower less and less stable.
Buck joined the 118 fresh out of the Navy and braced himself for all the questions that were about to come his way which he did not want to answer. Then, like a gift from above, somehow and shockingly, no one had read his resume, and he found he could start all over again, be a new person, someone completely different or maybe who he was supposed to be all along.

Buck wraps the towel around his waist and peers through the cracked bathroom door. "Sorry, I need to grab…my…. Hi." Oh no.
"Evan. I thought—Hey."
"I asked at the desk, they don't have any double rooms left."
"Huh." Tommy sets his luggage on the far side of the bed. "I don't think I can sleep on the couch."
"I can't either, the pressure shift is twinging my leg."
"Well…it's a big bed."
Buck wants to kill him. He's doing that infuriating little flirty face.
Buck also wants to forget his leg hurts and drop to his knees right now. This man drives him fully insane.
Instead he says, "I guess we're stuck here."
The conference hotel is fully booked. Buck is sharing a bed with his ex. His ex he's still pathetically hung up on. His ex he wishes he'd tried to know better. At least he has some new friends to text about it.

Evan grins and rolls his eyes, but he does angle his body more toward Tommy as he curls the dumbbell up. “You objectifying me?”
Tommy bites his lip and sweeps his eyes over his boyfriend's body. He's in grey sweats and a black tank, and he's sweating in the mid-morning light.
“Yeah,” he decides, getting up and walking toward him. Evan stops, letting his arms hang at his sides as Tommy steps toe-to-toe with him. “You want me to stop?”

Summary
“I want to get there,” he murmurs. Tommy hums, kissing his shoulder again as he trails his fingers down the edge of Evan’s naked hip, thumb brushing along the jut of the bone.
“There’s no rush, baby,” Tommy whispers as he tilts his head up, staring down into those crystal blue eyes. His own gaze his just ever-so-slightly glazed, body in a low hum of sex-fueled endorphins. They’ve already gone four rounds since waking up this morning, and while Evan doesn’t feel done per se, he’s struggling to settle into the headspace he’s been trying to get to all day, where he can just give in and let himself feel instead of think.
“I know,” Evan murmurs. Still, he sighs audibly, pressing his skull back into the mattress as Tommy’s lips reattach to his shoulder while his fingers continue trailing Evan’s hip.
“I want to, is the problem,” Evan says a few seconds later. Tommy shifts on the bed, moving to Evan’s opposite side while keeping his hand on the firefighter’s hip. “I want to stop thinking about everything and just give into it so that we can enjoy ourselves.”

Buck's main goals in life are simple: survive his PhD, keep his toxic insects alive, and spend way too much time in the Inhuman fandom online.
What he definitely did not expect was getting rescued by his favorite Inhuman in real life. Obsidian is just as tall, dark, mysterious, and unfairly attractive as Buck always imagined.
