“She was strong, and she had grey eyes like me and you, momma, and She had two best friends she fought beside, and did anything to protected them. Like a guardian angel.” She said in a slightly wistful tone, swinging her arms back and forth as she spoke.
Her parents shared had a glace, she was very mature for her age, but to be thinking of soldiers was very strange. But what was to be done. Their daughter was a storyteller, so they were happy to play along.They had both smiled at her, her mother’s soft grey eyes crinkling at the corners as she knelt down in the grass beside her, “Who was she fighting love?” she asked, wanting to bolster her daughter’s budding imagination
“Titans” she replied simply, Her eyes turning slightly blank like she was looking through her, then turned away, the skirt of her yellow sundress twirling in the wind like the people in her mind had over rooftops.

Jiang Cheng is willing to roll with it - although it is strange that Lan Wangji seems so very determined not to be ignored...

A new voice cuts through the general merriment of the group. It’s light and casual and Lan Wangji sees the feet and legs of some of his tormentors turn in the direction of the voice. From the angle his head is at, he can’t see the newcomer at all. Blood loss and shock and pain are making his body heavy and his vision hazy and even his mind feels like it’s starting to slip away, yet even as far gone as he is he knows exactly to whom that voice belongs.
He would know that voice anywhere.
OR Lan Wangji is horrifically hurt during the sunshot campaign and when Wei Wuxian comes to his rescue /things/ end up coming out.

Jiang Cheng glanced at the scene in front of him — Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian, practically lost in each other’s gazes, still hugging each other, Wen Chao’s slaughtered body lying on the floor only a short distance away, the whole place reeking of resentful energy, and the pristine Hanguang-Jun looking like he wasn't bothered by any of it — and quickly walked away.
(Wherein there are many moments that a time travelling Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji could have been thrown back to. Regardless of what they are, they sure as hell aren’t letting that get in the way of confessing their love).
