She feels her eyebrows rise almost into her hairline, then realizes she probably resembles an oxygen starved fish, and forces her mouth shut and head to nod. She isn’t sure what it is about this woman that has rendered her momentarily speechless. Being lost for words isn’t typically what Beatrice is known for. She works in an environment that requires quick thinking and intelligence, but right now, simple cognitive processes evade her.
The woman smiles at her again, her teeth white and straight, and steps closer to hold out her hand.
