He’s okay with it, really, he is. It hurts a little, sure, not having a party like rest of the kids his age, but at that point, Izuku’s just used to it. He’s accepted it. Accepted that he probably won’t ever have friends and won’t ever have a birthday party again. People are just meant to disappoint him.
That’s fine. As much as Izuku wants a party, as much as he wants friends to clap him on the back and give him presents, as much as he wants to walk home to a darkened room before everyone jumps out and yells surprise and flicks the light on and as much as he wants the companionship and trips to the arcade with friends everyone his age has, he’s fine with not having one. It's fine.

The strings holding up her limbs snap. The tension that had sat between her shoulders— since she arrived in Hisui, since she got outcast from Jubilife Village, since the final confrontation at the Temple of Sinnoh— dissipates, and she staggers forward on unsteady limbs like a newborn Stantler.
Her mother surges forward, catching her with sturdy arms and wrapping her in a warm embrace. Akari chokes one more time before a wail leaves her, then another, and another. Her mom shushes her and pets her hair gently, despite the way her own body trembles from the force of her own sobs.

Jinshi was in serious trouble now. With the Emperor’s children continuing to grow sick and die, he’s not sure where to go from here. The doctors were at a complete loss, and it seems that the chains of his future tighten with each passing day. At least until a young apothecary girl with sharp blue eyes, a splattering of freckles, and was as blunt as a hammer comes into his life. Despite having everything handed to him on a silver platter, Jinshi had lived a lonely and dull life where he learned to hide his true face behind a façade he presents to the court… until he meets Maomao.
For the first time, someone sees past his mask to his true self and she fills his world with color. Jinshi's feelings for Maomao evolve from initial curiosity and amusement to deep affection and romantic interest until he realized he cannot live without her.
This is going to be a retelling of the Apothecary Diaries only they’re told from Jinshi's POV, based on both the anime and light novels. From his first meeting with Maomao to at least to the final episode of season 2.
