“I believe I had just blown up a window that you and Ikithon were standing next to.”
Caleb felt his eyebrows fly up to his hairline.
Even with his perfect memory, his recollection of that moment was muddied by the very powerful magic explosion that had preceded it. But still, he remembered.
In a daze, on his knees, looking up to see a soldier flying in through the shattered remains of the window. He remembered the dark lines of their armour, sharp and foreign to him. The sound it had made, as they’d landed before him. Not just any soldier. A Kryn soldier. He remembered his shock, surely evident on his face.
A cape had whipped behind them in the wind, looking for a moment like wings, marking them as more than just a mere soldier, as the leader of the attack.
And Caleb had watched, mouth agape, transfixed.
“That was you?”

After the end of the third campaign, I couldn't help but start writing this little story about Kiki and Vax, following Marisha and Liam's amazing roleplaying. I'm not sure how long it will be, but it will certainly have a lot of fluff. Vaxleth's nation, we raised.

Something along the lines of walking in a field at night, flowers closed but in their blooming season, a warm wind brushing along the tops of the grass, bending them as it went by.” He pulls back just a bit so he can see Essek’s face, pressing into the hands in his hair and shifting up the bed so they’re level. “I don’t remember much, but it was cloudless, and the moon was full, and the stars were bright, and you were shining, Liebling. Absolutely radiant.”
