Ransom’s not sure exactly how a heterosexual, cisgender white American man with an encyclopedic knowledge of Golden Girls who sings show tunes in the communal shower after practice became his friend, but by November it’s become abundantly clear that Holster is the best friend he’s ever had. Holster is his best friend and his defense partner, so when they’re warming up before a game and Holster sends him a sloppy pass that misses Ransom by a good meter and a half Ransom immediately knows something is wrong.

Jack Zimmermann has been playing professionally for a decade, is the face of the current Stanley Cup-winning franchise, so he knows better than to decline management’s request that he take part in a charity indoor cycling event to raise money for youth hockey programs.
If he finds himself going back to take additional classes, well, it's just to kill some time during the off-season. Until his friends start to notice he's only booking classes taught by the cute, blonde instructor. And then Jack's parents get involved.

Frankly, the land would be far more valuable to the city if it were to sell it to a developer. I can put you in touch with—”
“Over my dead body,” Eric interrupts.
“Excuse me?”
“You heard me. You can’t sell my rink.”
Eric Bittle is the director of the City of Samwell's Parks and Recreation department. He loves everything about his job, including overseeing the city's municipal ice rink, where generations of kids have learned to skate. Unfortunately, a citywide budget crisis has put Eric's proposed rink renovations on hold, and out-of-town auditor Jack Zimmermann is insistent that the best course of action would be to shut it down entirely. Too bad Eric isn't willing to give up his rink without a fight. He's got a plan. And he may just melt the heart of Samwell's iciest auditor along the way.

Jack graduated from college in May with a history degree and no immediate plans for the future. The only thing he knows with absolute certainty is that he doesn’t want to play hockey.
