Over the years, Jaskier gets a reputation amongst witchers as the guy who will get you out of bind if you need him to. He’s the witchers’ bard, after all. Need a hand with your injuries? A safe place to hide? A friendly face? Find Jaskier.
Jaskier, on the other hand, has no idea why witchers in trouble keep bumping into him on the road, but fate is funny that way, isn’t it? He’s certainly not going to turn them away

“Can’t afford it,” Geralt grunted.
“It’s not that expensive to rent a bed -” Jaskier started.
It stings to have it pushed in his face that his life isn’t normal, so far beyond normal that someone like Jaskier can’t fathom it.
“It’s expensive to rent a private room,” Geralt couldn’t keep the snarl out of his voice. “Or do you think anyone wants to sleep near a witcher?”
When Geralt meets Jaskier in Posada, he is jaded, bitter and so lonely some days he thinks he might kill him. Jaskier is young, bright, and not afraid of tarnishing his reputation by standing by a witcher.
Years later, Geralt repays the kindness.

Summary
The first baby that Crawley ever held was Abel.
He held him awkwardly at arms length, unsure what he was meant to do with this small creature he’d been handed, whose head was now tilting backward at an odd angle. The baby let out a noise that Crawley knew was the prelude to tears.
“Don’t hold him like that, what’s the matter with you?” Eve asked, shifting Crawley’s arms until the baby was cradled in his arms.
In Eden, in the Ark, on the Dowling’s estate, Crowley makes friends, saves children, accidentally becomes part of a few families, and overall just gets terribly entangled in the lives of the human beings he cares for.
Aziraphale, in the meantime, pines.

Summary
"Hey...can I ask you something kind of weird?"
"Shoot," Rocky says, his voice sounding amused. "But not actually shoot."
Grace wants to laugh at the joke (he's been getting better at joking and sarcasm) but instead he swallows, his fingers tracing idle patterns on the blanket. The ache from earlier at the classroom, the beach, the constant invisible wall feels closer tonight.
"What does it feel like... to touch you?" he asks. "I mean, if we could. Your carapace. Your claws. What would it feel like to me?"
Rocky is quiet for a long beat. When he sings again, his melody is thoughtful and gentle.
"Hard. Rocky, like name. Like...strong stone that is alive. My claws are sharp but careful. My body pulses a little when I am happy. Like singing Grace can feel instead of hear." He pauses, then adds with a soft, almost shy trill, "What does human skin feel like, question? To me, I wonder."
He imagines it.
In his mind, the xenonite shell vanishes.
Or: Grace is touch starved and Rocky wants to make it better

Summary
A series of short fics exploring Grace and Rocky's friendship, among other things. (Each chapter is its own story; I just wanted to have them all in one place.)
Chapter 1: Rocky thinks humans are equally disgusting and cute. Somehow, through it all, Grace reminds him of home.
Chapter 2: Rocky can pick Grace up easily, and Rocky thinks it is very funny. Rocky and Grace tease each other.
Chapter 3: Eridians bring Grace their babies for him to see, and Grace learns about Eridian culture/religion. Grace is also bad at taking compliments.
Chapter 4: Rocky makes Grace celebration jewelry. Later, Grace gets a similar gift from Adrian.
Chapter 5: Grace and Rocky tease each other, and Rocky is introduced to the idea of throwing things at your friends. He decides that humans are odd, but maybe aren't all that bad.
Chapter 6: Grace tries to convince Rocky to swim, but Eridians don’t typically like deep water because they are heavy and will sink/drown. Grace learns about some Eridian mythology.
Chapter 7: Grace talks about the lack of support teachers have on Earth. Rocky is confused by this.- Language:

Summary
"I-" his words turn into a jumbled mess and I feel my claws clench. It's more than a little frustrating the way Grace keeps using new vocabulary without offering a translation for it. It probably has to do with grammar structure, but we've barely established +λ++ words.
He can handle some grammatical sacrifices for the sake of ease, can't he? I definitely have.
Grace presses one of his dull claws to his carapace. "-sleep now. I come back in +∀ +λ++ seconds."
He takes another (clumsy) step backward and this time I do push my carapace into the barrier. He can't leave, the tunnel is too long for me to hear him whenever he's back on his spaceship. He's going to vanish and take that steady percussion beat within his chest with him. What if something happens to him while he's on his ship and he never returns? I need need need him.
Erid needs needs needs him.
"I observe."
Grace is so caught up with making himself look trustworthy that he forgets aliens might be able to lie just as well as he can.
OR
Rocky lies about Eridian culture. What's Grace gonna do? Call an alien a liar?
