After Rolan leaves the Emerald Grove, intent on carving his way to Baldur's Gate on his own, Tav pursues him with the intent of bringing him back.
She finds him hunkered down in a dilapidated building in a crumbling village, and what was meant to be a rescue turns into kissing. Which turns into touching. Which turns into intimacy. Which is risky. Especially when goblins are prowling about.

When Rolan and his family offered Tav a place to stay, she thought it would only be temporary--a few days at most. But the handsome master of Ramazith's Tower, grumpy as he was, seemed to have a soft spot for this exhausted adventurer.
And a brief respite soon became a permanent residence.

While she settles into her new life, Gaerwyn tries to abandon secrets from her former one. Those secrets soon become impossible to hide in the face of her and Cullen's blossoming relationship.

Five years after Shroud is defeated, Waterboy lives comfortably as a high-ranking SDN hero. The Z-team, now a well respected hero troupe, lives on in something just to the left of glory. Everything is peaceful. Or, at least, as peaceful as it can be.
And then he's flung violently back into the past, forced to watch as old wounds open. Okay. Whatever.
There's really not much he can do without messing up the future, but... maybe there's some comfort he can provide. Some life he can bring to his past teammates' eyes.

It all started with the Nautiloid. There was a before, certainly. Isotta had been a scholar and a storyteller—an ethnographer—but not a mage. She had traveled the whole of Faerûn, exploring and cataloguing the people who called the material plane home. Where a wizard might hoard knowledge, Isotta sought to share it. Everything around them was all just one big story, after all.
There was also a magnificent wizard named Rolan who had the misfortune to be born a tiefling. He also had the misfortune to meet a bard who claimed to be a scholar, named Isotta. Despite his best efforts to evade her, she repeatedly inserted herself into his life until he finally had no choice but to tell her he loved her, in his own way, and ask her if she might love him too—because why else could someone be so insistent on meddling if not for love? And then, dear reader, she rejected him.

Summary
Rolan misses his chance with Tav at the end of the events of BG3 and a year passes where his yearning only grows. An opportunity to see her again arises when the city of Baldur’s Gate throws a grand masquerade to celebrate the heroes who defended the city from the illithid plot. He’s not one for parties and he wants to toss the invite away. Will his sense of responsibility keep him from happiness?
