Summary
Grian and Jimmy would laugh so hard at him! Everyone would know all about how terrible at dying hair Joel was, and he'd be known at school as the shitty-hair-dye-boy for the rest of his highschool career!
...Maybe that wouldn't happen. But still! He'd be a laughing stock for at least three days. Joel couldn't let that happen. He had to call someone to help him. But who could he ask for help?
Every person Joel could think of wouldn't work. He sighed, sitting down properly and laying his head on the cold ceramic of his bathtub. His back ached in this position but he couldn't muster up any care.
The boy wracked his brain, thinking of everyone he had in his phone that might know anything about hair dye. The number was painfully small.
Well, there was one person...
No. Joel couldn't, he wouldn't.
But he couldn't just stay like this. He'd have to make a terrible sacrifice. Joel had to call Scott.

Hey, have you heard? There's this guy running around in costume, claiming to be a superhero!
Crazy, right?
He's supposedly calling himself Spiderman... What a weirdo!

Or, Akane gets a job, finds a family, meets new people (good and bad), studies for midterms, and becomes the resident superhero of Kamome.
Not necessarily in that order.

Summary
The zombies were on me in seconds, surrounding me as they reached out with their rotting hands. Luckily, they were shoving each other to much to be able to bite me. That didn't stop them from clawing and grabbing at me, though.
They trampled my legs, pulling and ripping them. The searing white hot pain in my legs made me bite my lip to hold back a scream. As I scooted out of the hoard, a massive force weighed down on my arm. A loud crack rung through my ears.
My scream was quickly cut off as I grit my teeth. The pain was unbearable, but I'd built up a decent enough pain tolerance over the past few months. I inhaled sharply through my teeth and tried to escape. Despite all my efforts, nothing was working, and I was losing strength fast.
As a last resort, I went limp hoping and praying it'd all be over. I squeezed my eyes shut. But, they shot open as I heard slashing sounds above me.
"Larry, get the girl!" A male voice called.

Summary
Jake woke up slowly, feeling safe and warm. There was a dull pain in his back, along with a new weight, but he was too tired to consider it much. Actually, speaking of tired, Jake wanted to go back to sleep.
His ears itched. And his throat hurt. And he wanted water. And, damnit, now he couldn't sleep.
He groaned in annoyance.
There was a soft trill next to him.
'Awake calm?'
Jake wanted to reply, but his throat felt weird. He needed water, still. But it felt different, like-
Peep.

Or, Most people get their wings and instincts at around 10-12 years old. Jake is decidedley not normal.

Summary
A collection of fics that are all part of the same AU. Does not need to be read in order, they should all work as stand-alones.
The AU - The hermits / life series members are in highschool. That's basically it. Each character's story revolves around a different teenager-typical struggle (except I don't make them all very obvious). I'm also writing all of these based on my own experiences, so try not to think too hard about it.

Summary
Lighter & Leitner is not the campus bookstore. Tim Stoker is well aware of that, thank you very much. It sits near enough to campus that one might be mistaken, if they had not yet walked onto campus and witnessed the three story Waterstones directly next to the student affairs building, but Tim has been here for two and a half years, now, working desperately on a neverending PhD, and he knows the little hole in the wall bookshop across the street from his favorite coffee shop isn’t where students are supposed to buy their books.
So why Professor Elias Bouchard has sent him there on an errand with a list of course reserves to request they set aside for students in his upper-level Philosophy course, Tim could not even begin to tell you.
or: grad student Tim is Elias' TA, Jon and Gerard run a used bookshop, and everything is about to go very much to hell in a handbasket

Summary
The thing is, Jonathan Sims is someone you’d call the police on if you saw him hanging around a school, those frazzled clothes and bags under his eyes, the frantic muttering and thousand-year stare.
Yet there he sits, headteacher of The Magnus Institute for Gifted Young Minds.
The name’s a bit misleading, it is. They’re in a bad part of town. The parents are either terrible or absent, and the kids—
“They’re monsters,” his new and handsome coworker grins, when Martin’s signature on his contract is barely dry. “Absolute monsters. Get too close and you’ll lose some fingers. Or maybe your mind.”
“They’re babies,” is all Martin can feebly manage, in reply, and Tim’s eyes narrow at the fondness in his voice.
“You’ll learn.” -

“Do you mind if I sit?”
The man is thin, in an underfed sort of way. He doesn’t look that old, but his hair is streaked with grey, and there are lines of weariness around his eyes. There's something about him that reminds Martha of her late husband.
_____
While waiting for the nurse to call her into her routine surgical operation, Martha Sims meets a strange, vaguely familiar man. -

Summary
Jon Sims, Barista, has everything he ever wanted: a boring coffee shop managerial position, a quirky friend group of disaffected 20somethings, and a will-they-or-won't-they with the village idiot.
Jon Sims, Barista, does not exist.
Jon Sims the Archivist has everything that doesn't exist: a job at a coffee shop full of horrors that wasn't there yesterday, a tip jar full of worms that seem to follow him, and a heteronormative capitalist future where happiness exists without effort.
Jon Sims is dead. Long live Jon Sims. Long Live The Coffee Shop AU.

Summary
“He's good for you,” Ren says suddenly, and Mumbo raises an eyebrow.
“What, Poultry-Man?”
“No,” Ren clarifies, waving one hand as if to dispel the thought. “Grian.”
Mumbo lets out a breath through his nose. The bracelet is doubled over itself, and he rolls it between two fingers. “I thought we had been over this, Ren, we’re not -”
“Not dating, I hear ya,” he finishes, and gives Mumbo a wolfish smile. (It feels a little wane, though maybe that’s his imagination.) “But you could be.”
