It was frustrating, to just be sitting here and waiting for things to fall into place, but isn’t it what he had always done? He had always waited for other people – wiser people, more experienced and powerful people, to move the pieces for him and trap him in check, only for Harry himself to wiggle out at the last moment and continue the game down to the last piece. He had sat there and watched while more powerful men than him pulled the strings.
No more of that. It was time he took the reins.Or: Apparently, being the Master of Death has it perks. After dying Harry gets offered the chance to go back in time and change things by Death itself. After defeating Quirrell with the help of the greatest-pain-in-the-ass-of-all-time Merlin himself, Harry had much time to practice and make a few plans at the Dursley's. Only for him to realise, that plans are kind of overrated anyway.

Harry Potter was very lonely. Yes, he had friends, a good job, and just finished his mastery in defense, but it was usually just him and his son all alone at night when everyone else had families and lives apart from them. When he learned by chance that he may actually have some living family, it should have been an easy decision to reach out to them. Unfortunately, nothing comes easily to Harry. Harry's biological father just had to be the most difficult person in the world to get a meeting to see, and the absolutely most suspicious when confronted with a paternity claim.
Tony Stark was very lonely. He and Pepper had recently broken up. His friends had betrayed him, and he was now forced to live with the very same people who had hurt him. He didn't think he could take one more blow and stay standing under it. Tony didn't have family; he didn't know what to do with family; too bad Tony's family wasn't sure what to do with him either, but they were going to give it a hell of a try anyway.

Aunt Petunia makes a nasty comment about Lily, a lie meant to make herself feel better about her own life. Harry believes it. His dad didn’t die in a car crush with his mum, he’s still alive! And his name is Severus Snape.
Magic is belief. Magic is intention. Magic is love— Harry Potter really wants to be loved. He really wants a dad too.
