"Hush now, you ain't talkin' your way out of this," chides Annie, looming over Remmick as she straddles his waist, a hammer, nail, and a folded piece of paper in hand. The nail glints menacingly in the warm light of the candles that are scattered around Annie's home, wickedly sharp and made of silver.
Remmick whimpers below her, strapped down to her table tightly with drool and tears dripping down his cheeks. Thick dead blood oozes sluggishly from the hole she has carved in his chest, his unbeating heart exposed to Annie's curious eye. Just like the rest of him, it is cold to her touch and smells like rot.
