Summary
Lance’s posture has gone from somewhat respectable to bad to worse, and his attention span is slowly but surely reaching its breaking point, when the door in the back of the room slides open.
Blue and gray and black. Long, dark hair. A familiar set of eyes. The same faded scar carved along his cheek.
Lance jerks upright, nearly jumping out of his chair.
“I’m filling in for Kolivan.”
The words strike right through Lance’s sternum. And he didn’t even have his defenses up. He didn’t have time to prepare.
Although somewhere deep down, he knows that no time in the world could’ve prepared him for seeing Keith again.
or: Being stuck with his ex at a diplomatic conference for a solid month is super cool and very fun. Because Lance is over him. Obviously. He so is.

Summary
Keith has been freshly crowned king after his adoptive father’s sudden and surprising death. Along with the title, power, and kingdom, he has also inherited the prior king’s concubines.
He honestly wants nothing to do with the said concubines. In full transparent truth, Keith is part disgusted that the old man picked younger and younger mistresses throughout the years, but also, he just felt disgusted with the idea of it all.
He believed that hoarding the already rare and dwindling omegas into a locked harem was inhumane. That it was abusive. All around predatory. Disgusting behavior that he would not continue during his reign.
Which meant shoving the remaining concubines back to their homes.
Except one concubine in particular did not want to leave. That was how Keith became stuck with Lance. And perhaps Keith allowed Lance to stay in some turned about way to atone for the late emperor’s sins. For it was the fault of his predecessor that Lance no longer had a place to call home.
What Keith didn’t expect was to almost be assassinated by the said omega, or to even fall in love with him.

A house of mirrors goes wrong, drawing Lance’s female counterpart into his timeline. Two versions of the same person, both carrying buried trauma, are forced to confront what they’ve been hiding:
“Hey, Keith, come here!” Pidge waved him over, ignoring Lance. “Maybe this’ll make you tall.”
Keith gritted his teeth, walking over nonetheless. “You’re literally the shortest one of the team.”
“And you're second shortest,” Pidge snickered, pointing in laughter at his suddenly lanky reflection in the trick mirror. “But look at this! You’re now taller than even Lance!”
At that, Lance dragged his eyes away from reading the ‘House of Mirrors: Meet Your True Self, If You Dare’ sign. “Oh, the quiznak he is!”
Hands in his pockets, Lance straightened his back. He strode over to his friends and stood behind them, pushing through to be in the middle. He was only momentarily humoured by everyones’ disproportionate reflections, before he realised he didn’t actually have one of his own.

“...Did you just knot in me?” Lance finally questioned into the silence, a quirk in his thin brow apparent as he attempted to sit up slowly- stopping halfway as a flash of discomfort washed over his features. At the very least his boyfriend appeared to be quite calm, not angry or too stunned despite the circumstances.
But Keith, on the other hand, was horrified.
