The palace had a grand air to it, importance of divine proportions, of a culmination of years of work from their Pale Crown.
For just as divine, it felt just as heavy today. Weighted with the test about to be carried out.
“Vessel, in the past you’ve have been told to uphold the protection and safety of both this kingdom and its crown. Until I state otherwise you are to disregard those orders.”
The crowd holds their breath, the knights with weapons drawn ready to spring.
“Vessel, I command you to kill me.”

Summary
A day in Mentopolis is mere moments to The Big Guy. And even then, when the city is sluggish, time doesn’t seem all that consistent here either. What minutes and days literally are is quite meaningless to the average citizen of the city.
The Fix only considers the concept of measuring passing time because a lot has happened in so little time. It’s the coming of a new era for everyone, both for citizens of Mentopolis and for The Big Guy himself.
In which The Fix speculates on this new chapter driven by pleasure in Mentopolis, and for himself.

“So you helping will solve it all? Oh, my knight in shining armor~! Saving the damsel in this story~!”
Hollow gave a silent huff. Mostly they were amused. Grimm moved to lay a hand on his forehead to play the part.
“Whatever would I do without my big strong knight to fight on my behalf~? Oh, woe would be me! Woe! So delicate and fragile I’d just fall apart at the prospect of dealing with it myself~!”
They silently chuckled as he ran with the bit.
“Is that how you think of me my darling, such a delicate thing you must personally intervene, and it will solve everything?” He snickered, being playful did help his mood.
“Not everything. You will always bite and have an attitude.”
In which Grimm wallows and Hollow teases him out of his head. (For just a little bit.)

“Of course you should.” He warned. “What do you know of royal status? Of the innate power that comes with it? What do you know of lavish treatments and staking claim in ornate luxuries?”
Grimm’s claws were gripping on either leg, effectively keeping Hollow where they were.
“I’ve staked a claim on you, haven’t I?” A subtle tilt of their mask hides any annoyance with Grimm’s claws. More curiously was such a bold statement that brought heat to Grimm’s face.
Bastard keeps getting to him in a way that made his heart skip.
“I’m flattered to be compared to a luxury fit for royalty my darling,” He purred, devious intent in his eyes prompted Hollow to tense against his grip. “But perhaps you should get a lesson on how to enjoy the finer luxuries in life~”
“What is there for me to learn?” They laughed.
In which Grimm and Hollow spend some quality time together, and demonstrate improper piano usage. (He doesn't care, the view was worth it.)

“I’m not the one putting myself in harm’s way—”
“Oh darling but you are!” He sat up perhaps too quickly, vision swimming for a moment, a fire in his eyes. “You are! Quite a show it will be too I must say.”
In which Grimm is so exhausted by everything. By his realm falling apart which is making him decay, by the stress of trying to recover something of the dream realm, and most importantly, by Hollow who insists on staying far too close despite the danger of a runaway fire.

Herrah is fed up with watching Lurien pine after a wyrm too oblivious to realize how badly he's wanted, and fed up with Lurien being too repressed to even consider making his wants clear. A lucky opportunity gives her the chance to prompt the Pale King into action... by goading him into it.
She doesn't expect to get quite as involved as she does. Not that she's complaining about where things end up.
(Or: Herrah somewhat inadvertently winds up giving Lurien both the best time of his life, and the most embarrassing. Courtesy of a bottle of artificial pheromones, the White Lady's meddling, and one painfully oblivious king getting slapped in the face by something he should have noticed a long time ago.)
