"Yup." Mary Katharine replied, flatly refusing to look Cyrus in the eye. Pain seared through her side, as she gripped the railing ever harder. "Just peachy."
Cyrus approached, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder. Mary Katharine let out a shuddering breath. "Damn it." She whimpered.
"I know, love. Nemo will be here soon." He soothed.
Mary Katharine nodded, tears pricking in the corners of her eyes. "He'd better be." She joked weakly. Cyrus pressed a kiss to her forehead, helping her hold herself up with his arms around her chest — careful to mind the long, jagged cut snaking its way across her side.

Nemo's hardly unused to battle. Both real and projected, though real battle is a quite a different struggle than that of Illusion. Life or death, surrender not something that can be faced. Still, this isn't the first time pirates have decided to board their deck. They've stormed across it, but it's a tide that the Bonadventure's crew is surely pushing back into the depths. Many of them are already unable to fight back. The battle is turning in their favor—but the fight's not fully won yet.
So, the enemies that are remaining should be what's keeping his attention.
They really should be.
