Ron did not want to get involved with creepy houses that seem to loom and things that hiss in the darkness. All he wanted to do was to finally get a lead on a serial killer that his boss refuses to even acknowledge exists and make the streets a bit safer again.
In hindsight, Ron should have known that following Harry and his crazy conspiracy theory into Malfoy Manor would not achieve that goal. But now here he stands, the Manor brimming with something unseen, and whatever is stalking these shadows, it isn't going to let him go.

To start, maybe not staying in the lodge was a bad idea, to say the least. Yes, Mr. H had warned them to stay inside. And yes, that warning flew over every single one of their empty, little heads (except maybe Ryan and Abi…), but it’s not like he was completely responsible for that! One: it was a group effort. Two: he really wanted to get drunk in the woods. And perhaps partying in the middle of nowhere—in the middle of the night—with a bunch of drunk 18–20-year-olds, miles away from any hospital, police station, or cellphone tower could be seen as… risky. During a full moon, nonetheless. But he could own that, especially seeing as it was his own suggestion that got them there in the first place.
He could not, however, be blamed for the fucking werewolves. Despite what his father might’ve claimed if he could see his sorry excuse for a son now.

Toji Fushiguro (then Zenin) was well aware of the blood on his hands.
It ran down his arms, a deep red stream running endlessly from seemingly nowhere. It pooled in his dry, clenched palms and seeped between his hesitant fingers. It settled in the crevices of his fingerprints, making his identity known to all.
A killer. A destroyer. A thing so steeped in rage and violence.
He was untouchable, though not literally. Someone could, in theory, hold his hand, they could smile and say sweet things to him, but they’d get nothing in return. He had to protect himself somehow, and he had to protect other people. He knew what it felt like to be the victim of someone else’s hurt, and so he didn’t want to be the cause of someone else’s. He was dangerous, volatile.
But Emi Fushiguro didn’t seem to get the message, or maybe she just chose to ignore it.
