They have not spoken of the wings again since the explosion at the Intelligentsia Guild laboratory - save for once, one afternoon when Aventurine lay sprawled across Ratio’s lap, utterly exhausted, and Ratio’s hand paused as he threaded his fingers soothingly through Aventurine’s hair.
“You have no obligation to nor do I have any expectations of you, but I hope you will take care of your wings.” Ratio’s voice was quiet and careful, and when Aventurine turned to look up at him, he was still looking at the book in his other hand. Beams of gentle afternoon sunlight splayed across them both, catching the edges of Ratio’s hair and reflecting in his eyes, still on the pages but soft around the edges. “Naturally, should there be anything I can do for you, you have my full support. But should you prefer time and solitude, you need only say the word.”
Aventurine just hummed and rolled onto his side, hiding his face against Ratio’s stomach. Ratio was warm and solid against him. “We can talk about it later, Doc,” he said, words coming soft and slow and his eyelids growing heavy with sleep, “promise.”
Aventurine really did mean it - he still does.
It can’t be too late.

I have found it... My precious. One of my all time favorites. I'm sure it's not just a 3am me opinion, this was amazing. Unbelievably good writing. Whump. Hurt and comfort. And, and those two... they're so sweet... my heart is melting... (*; ;)💘 (Had I a tiny bit less self control, I would be on my knee and proposing to the author, declaring my undying love for them and their writing. They are incredible.)

Kaveh gets injured on a job site, leaving him with significant damage to his eyes, temporarily - or perhaps permanently - unable to see. Completely blind, he has to learn to view the world through a whole new lens.
“There’s a good chance that the injury to his eyes won’t heal. He may lose his sight. Permanently.”
Alhaitham's heart plummeted. He glanced down at Kaveh's pale face, the bandage obscuring his eyes as he lay unconscious suddenly seeming far more oppressive.
“I see,” Alhaitham eventually managed through the lump forming in his throat. It would be Kaveh's life, his career - his entire livelihood - in jeopardy when he awoke.
The prospect of Kaveh’s blindness tormented Alhaitham for countless reasons, but selfishly... he couldn’t bear the thought of never again seeing those beautiful crimson-golden eyes, the very essence of the light in his life - eyes that lit up with joy at a good meal or a perfectly aged glass of wine, blazed with passion as he argued with Alhaitham, and stared up at him with an innocent, soul-stirring warmth, always so unaware of the profound effect the mere sight of him had on Alhaitham.

The unexpected pain catches Keith off-guard, and rather than landing safely on the other side, he tumbles down the hill, instinctively bringing his arms up to guard his head.
On the plus side, he’s made it down the hill in record time with no head injury, and he can no longer hear the footfalls trailing after him.
…but he’s paid for that win with the gouges he can now confirm are thoroughly marring his right hand and the sting along most of his left forearm. After he pauses for a shaky breath and brings himself to look at it, he sees how fast it’s leaking blood, staining the dirt beneath him. It’s most definitely not a “slap a band-aid on it and move on” kind of wound.

Oh my goodness. I am speechless. This was one of the best, whumpiest and amazingly written fics I've had the honor of getting to read. ｡･(つд`｡)･｡💖💗 (I even ditched studying for a test because this was too good to leave for later, hahaha (absolutely worth it, I have no regrets (*•̀ᴗ•́ )و))
The pain and injuries are described so well. And the way Geralt kept pushing himself despite everything, to do what he believed to be right is so beautiful (*TAT) And the comforting moments, and the way all the characters stay true to their personality, never feeling out of character. - this is perfect ﾟ+.ﾟ(´▽`人)ﾟ+.ﾟ💕✨️
