She knew why the Mourn Watch had sentenced Hezenkoss to live with Emmrich, but there were times when it felt like they were being punished too. Her professor had been tired lately and had taken to sleeping in her room. She suspected that the skull was being a bit too chatty and was trying to ruin Emmrich’s sleep.
She also knew that he was only physically affectionate with her where the skull couldn’t see. Every time she’d reached for him in the skull’s eyeline he’d find an excuse to move away or there’d be a book he needed to look at or fact he needed to double check. It was charming and exceptionally frustrating.
OR Rook hears Hezenkoss call Emmrich "moldering" and decides to prove her wrong.
