Yes. Wilbur had to bite his tongue to keep the answer from spilling out of his mouth, because yes he wanted more. Of course he wanted more. He wanted to be more than the bastard prince. He wanted to be more than a mistake his mother made before she married Tommy’s father.
But that wasn’t the role he had been cast for in his life.
“It doesn’t matter,” Wilbur said instead. “When Tommy turns eighteen he’ll be crowned King, and I will be his advisor. He’ll be a good king, I’ll make sure of it.”
or, as the bastard prince of the planet of Eldingvegr, Wilbur has always known he was never meant for greatness. That was his younger brother's destiny. Wilbur's job was simply to try and make sure Tommy could fulfill that destiny.
That becomes decidedly more difficult when the brothers are betrayed, and are forced to flee their home planet. With the Essempi Empire being one of the largest imperial powers in the universe, the only place that can offer them refuge from Emperor Dream is Zephys IV—capital planet of the Antarctic Empire, ruled by the ruthless Emperor Philza.

Wilbur’s breathing hitched as he looked into the pale eyes of the dead boy. Unlike before, his lips were no longer blue, and there was no more seaweed stuck in his blonde curls. He was sitting up now, the waves soaking the bottom of his pants as he sat on the sand across from Wilbur.
“You-”
“I’m not dead, Wil,” the boy said, the words tumbling out of him in a rush. “I’m not dead, don’t fucking listen to them when they say I’m dead because I’m not. You know I’m not!”
“I-I saw your body,” Wilbur stammered, unsure of how the dead boy knew his name.
“It’s not me! I don’t know what the fuck that thing was, but I’m not dead! You can feel it, can’t you?” The boy pleaded, his voice cracking as he started crawling on the sand towards Wilbur. “You have to save me, Wil. Please, you need to get me out of here!”

It was then the Pythia looked down at the hand outstretched between them. The prosthetic was made of intricately carved metal, covered in vines and flowers twisting together with the shimmer of enchantments reflecting in the purple glow.
And although the guard’s sleeve was covering his wrist, he knew that in the place where metal met flesh, there was a pair of dark angel wings tattooed on his skin.
He was right. This wasn’t a real guard.
This was a Deathling.

One day, he receives a dream warning him that during a ball Emperor Schlatt is hosting, the Deathlings—terrorists who worship the goddess of Death—will launch an attack. He doesn't expect one of those consequences to include him getting kidnapped by a teenager.

Six years, three case workers and one brother.
Tommy lost it all when he was seven. His shit parents didn't care, the system didn't care, his foster families never cared, but through it all Tommy knew he could always turn towards his big brother to take care of him.
Six years had passed since he last heard the strum of his brother's guitar, or been tucked in by a familiar face. Over that time he had lost three caseworkers, been passed around from house to house, kicked out of homes and driven just about everywhere they could send him.
Now it was a new house, a new caseworker, and one surprise that sends him into a spiral.

Tommy hasn't seen or spoken to his brothers in almost seven years. And it was supposed to stay that way. In fact Tommy wasn't ever supposed to see or speak to his brother until they apologized to him. Or at least that's what he thought.
Now in his senior year in the most prestigious school in the country due to a very strange set of circumstances, Tommy is shocked to find his out his brothers are coming home a semester early and are going to be staying at home with him again.
With his whole world shaken and his perfectly crafted world crumbled by this news, Tommy figure out how to manage his knew home life with his current school life.
Not to mention he's also part of the school theatre program that is much more demanding than anything he's ever done before.
Tommy has to make it through his last semester of high school, last show with the school that has done so much for him and now his entire schedule and life has been thrown to the wind by his family. And why are they acting like nothings wrong?
