Evan "Buck" Buckley has always had a rough go of it. Depression was never a helping hand in growing up, nor was the constant sense of inadequacy. He never thought he would be where he is today as, Firefighter Buckley, of LA's Elite. He never thought he'd be a known face in LA because of the tsunami or Eddie's shooting. He always thought, as a kid, that being known – that being elite would fix him. That he'd be all better. That Evan "Buck" Buckley wouldn't feel this numb depression all the damn fucking time.
Yet he still felt it. He still felt nothing. He still wanted to die – even with the vision of Eddie finding his body. Yet, he couldn't let that happen. He couldn't do that to Eddie.

Eddie had cracked, splintered, shattered. He had (is still) piecing himself back together, glass shard by glass shard. Knuckles bruised, fingertips bleeding, he's very much getting there.
And a lot of telling Evan that he loves him because Buck is perfect, gorgeous, stunning – the best person Eddie had ever god damned met and he wouldn't be who he is without this stunning, gorgeous, perfect man in his life. Buck makes Eddie's second go at life so much easier, his everything makes Eddie exist easier.

Summary
His eyes lock in on Shane in the centre of the room, face still beautiful despite all the bruising that paints the underneath of his eyes and those perfect freckles. His arm is in a sling and one half of his chest beneath the hospital gown seems to be bandaged- Ilya imagines it could've been worse. But he doesn't really want to imagine it.
Shane is grinning at him dopily. Ilya traces his eyes to the bag of fluids being pumped into his... friend. Yeah, painkillers, that checks out. Ilya's kneejerk response is to smile right back, which is probably stupid, but his heart is still pumping like he's run a marathon. So.
The second thing he notices as he basically crashes into the room, is that they are very much not alone.
A pretty woman, Yuna Hollander, if he had to guess- sits at Shane's bedside, staring at Ilya like she's not quite sure he isn't some strange hallucination. Like maybe her son isn't the only one with a head injury right now.
"Hello..? Can I help you, Rozanov?"

Dean tries really hard to not take offense with the disgusted voice Cas takes, even when his vocal chords are still too weak for him to talk loudly. Blood pulses in his ears.
“Well, you’re not.”
“So Jack is God?”
Dean sighs, “Yes, He is. He absorbed Chuck’s powers then rendered him mortal.”
“And He is not answering to you?”
“Nope. Prayed to Him many times, begged Him to bring you back, but–”
“But He is God now. A just, fair, God. I understand.”
“There’s nothing fair about your kid leaving you to rot in Super-Hell.” Dean grits his teeth. "
After Castiel is rescued from the Empty and wakes up from a six-month coma, the trio reflects on their new purpose in a world that doesn't need them every day.
A New God that doesn't answer to prayers. A dead fallen angel. A grieving ultimate killer. His brother trying to fix things. What happens once the narrative ends and you're left with both freedom and free will?
