Aching for it knowing it’d be hours until they could be alone in a locked hotel room with a few hours to themselves.

There’s a kitten on Shane's lap, a naked kitten, and it’s pushing its head into his hand as he speaks to someone probably on his other monitor. “I have a meeting in a few,” Shane is saying, still not realizing that the meeting in question is currently happening because someone joined without Shane having to physically pull him in. “But after lunch I’m all yours. We can talk about the launch then.”
“Okay,” the other voice is tinny and a little disjointed, but Sergei doesn’t think he’s ever heard it before. He’s almost certain there’s an accent, but he can’t fully tell it’s that far away. “I’ll put you in my calendar.”
“So generous,” Shane jokes, gently scratching between the kitten’s ears. “Penciling me in.” He glances down for the first time, realizes Sergei is there and jumps, dislodging the kitten. “Shit, fuck, sorry, Chexy.” He looks over at his other screen and says, “I have to go, see you in a few hours.” Shane waves his hands at the other person before they can even say anything, and turns his full attention back to Chexy. “Sorry, that was HR.”

“Thank you, Shane. For repairing my car.” Ilya shakes his hand one more time before pulling away. Shane might just be deluding himself once again, but he could feel how Ilya purposely dragged his palm slowly across his, even extending his fingers just so their skin would be touching each other longer; he took his time letting go. It felt way more sensual than it should be.
His cheeks were now turning red. “Ah, don't thank me just yet, haha. Still have to actually fix your car later. But you can trust me on taking care of it, I’ll be sure to be very careful!” Shane says enthusiastically. This makes Ilya smirk again.
“Hm. Then I will thank you tomorrow again. See you.”
Shane Hollander works in an auto repair shop. Ilya Rozanov owns a ton of spare sports cars and has a lot of free time.

Hence why he gets such a kick out of pushing Shane’s buttons—he gets to do it so easily because they’re roommates, and it’s all for free.

Ilya continued, still panting softly. He should really catch his breath, but he seemed set on explaining himself. “We always jog together in the morning, she gets grumpy if we don’t because I always go home late—which am trying to fix.”
Anya. That’s a girl’s name, isn’t it? Ilya used ‘she’, too. And apparently, she gets grumpy when Ilya doesn’t go home immediately.
Anya’s Ilya’s girlfriend.
Maybe. Possibly.
“Trying to fix?” Shane asks.
“Yes, I think I will stop doing overtime,” Ilya nods. A smile slowly forms on his face as he continues. “She misses me a lot, and I want to come home to her as soon as possible.”
Okay, so definitely.
Shane has an embarrassing crush on his co-worker, Ilya. Unfortunately, the said co-worker already has a girlfriend he loves to flaunt. That's what Shane thinks, at least.

"Dude, the line of people waiting for your autograph wraps all the way around the building. Twice." Hayden hands him a water bottle, cap already off. "Here you go. Stay hydrated."
Shane hides a wince; the slightly warm water tastes like plastic, and it lingers unpleasantly on his tongue. He's been signing for what feels like hours already and the crowd isn't getting any smaller. "Fitness is popular these days."
"Sure. Fitness." Hayden gives a pointed look to the stack of photos in front of Shane: one set with him smiling awkwardly into the distance, arms crossed in his workout gear, and the other with him leaning against the side of a motel pool the marketing department rented for the morning, towel around his neck. The photographer insisted, despite protests that his workouts have never featured swimming.

This was a sick, cosmic fucking joke. How hadn’t Shane put two and two together before?
