Shelby assumed she should probably have put away the axe now that it'd been established that the running wasn't from a dangerous monster.. but it simply wouldn't happen.
A feeling that simply refused to go away lurked Shelby's mind. She lowered the axe behind her back instead. It was better than keeping it at his throat.
Basically, Shelby encounters Owen first, everything feels off, then, of course, she proceeds to get PTSD.

As Shelby and her coven went out in the woods for their weekly hunt, the distant glow from a nearby schloss caught her curiosity. Disobeying what Scott and the others would have told her, she went over to observe who might be there. As she reached the window where the light was coming from, she saw the most breathtaking being she had ever laid her eyes upon. Standing by the window, dressed in a floor length, cream coloured nightgown, with curly, sandy brown hair that just past her shoulders, stood a woman around Shelby’s own physical age. Could this be a new companion?

Summary
Avid's been a vampire for over a hundred years now. After almost being persecuted for witchcraft in his old town, he ran, finding Oakhurst.
He's been running for weeks, and now he is so, so hungry, and for a human. Unfortunately for him, his first target turns out to be another vampire. But the other... turns out to be much more similar to one than he thought he'd be, despite being wholly, entirely, undeniably, human...- OR -
Avid had always liked hunting.
Or, rather, his partner had, but the sentiment passed down when he became a vampire. He enjoyed lurking in the shadows, stalking their every move, until the perfect moment came for him to strike. He even enjoyed the waiting; the watching for the perfect moment and yearning for his teeth in their neck. He even found that the longer he waited, the more fulfilling the prize would be.
But Avid was hungry—especially after what happened in the town he was in before—and could not fall as far into waiting as he would like. That's why he chose Owen, the easiest target to find alone.

Grief stricken after the loss of his dearest friend and partner Elle, Avid sets off to Oakhurst in search of answers. There he meets thirteen others, isn’t Oakhurst supposed to be abandoned? Things are good for a time, until they’re not. Paranoia descends as a murder is discovered, Avid’s mental health already in a steady decline, plummets. Vampires circle, houses are barred. Invitations revoked. His wound festers, will they make it out alive? Or will the ill fated townspeople once again succumb to the curse.

As indicated, this is a pre-canon AU which explores the origins of Louis and how he came to be the mayor of a small town named Oakhurst, two hundred years before the events of the SMP take place. It preserves Owen's idyllic memory of the man -- and all of the events that lead up to his eventual demise -- while re-contextualizing the character and his motivations. If you prefer your Louis to be a perfect saint, this one is not for you.
Mature tag is for mentions of past trauma/abuse (veiled). Eventual boys kissing in here somewhere (not explicit).

Drift can feel a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. She turns to Avid, who is looking at her expectantly. When she shakes the envelope over the table, there is a clatter, and many, many small ruby-red pieces of rosygold come falling out.
“Avid.” Drift says triumphantly. “I think we have a case."
He lets out a little whooping sound.
(OR: The year is 1899. London has long since been consumed by the darkness of the Neath. The Unterzee stretches out like a hungry mouth; far to the South, the Ministry of Public affairs build a god; and in the North, something sleeps and dreams and waits, patient and inevitable, to be awoken.
However, this is not that story. Drift is an amateur detective working the streets of London with an amnesiac roommate and very little hope for the future. But when the mysterious Apo Apokuna contacts her asking to find a missing ally, things start to get much, much more serious.
Fear is one thing. Bravery is quite another. But if she wants to stay alive and stay human, Drift is going to have to figure it out- and quick. Because there are some things that cannot be changed.

Pre cannon au ispired by the scene in the train murder mystery video where Legundo is trapped between Louis and Owen...
Legundo is drunk as hell and deserting his position, haunted by the horrors he's committed. Louis and Owen are seemingly just as eager to jump onto a random moving train but while Louis is kind enough to let Legundo stay within their facade, Owen is not. Oh boy I hope there are no murderers on this train.

This wasn’t a man, it was a vampire… and not just any vampire, this one was allowed in the church. Their instincts went into overdrive, trying to run and flee before any harm came to them, “Lord Goldsmith…”
“Hmm? Oh, finally realised?” The vampire’s smile grew, nails slightly digging into their skin as he was locked in place. It felt so ironic, staring into the face of unholy death while standing within the supposed sanctity of a church.

He’s memorised the settings he sees in these phantasmagoria: cobweb-filled forests, leviathan bodies of water, a walled town he fears atavistically, inexplicably.
His research of the place in his mind has matched with the description of the ancient, mythical town of Oakhurst. The one filled with vampires, if the myths are true.
Whoever’s given him this book can’t have seen what he dreamed of, can they? He opens it and coughs, flapping the dust out of his face.
At fifteen, Owen meets Louis, who changes his life.
At thirty-four, Owen lives a magically mundane life with Legundo, until a book shows up on his doorstep.
