Summary
In a world obsessed with killing and dying, Seiko is mostly concerned with chasing off her boredom. The Academy wasn’t exactly intellectually stimulating, but dying in the second shinobi war sounded like a long walk off a short pier. Everyone is always so stressed about avoiding attention, or min-maxing skills in situations like this.
Seiko is of the opinion that those people need to chill the hell out. Maybe play a little shogi. Death comes for them all anyways. Better to enjoy this all while it lasts.

Thirteen year old Etsu hasn't been given a very good run of life. Stealing chips and jello cups from a hospital just to get some food in her, she doesn't expect to stumble across the room of a five year old Shoto Todoroki. Left recovering alone from a burn scar over his eye and looking terribly sad in his too-big hospital bed, Etsu doesn't expect to spontaneously ask if he wants to come with her, either.
Now both on the streets, Etsu's determined to give Shoto the life he deserves. Because if she's going to kidnap an entire child, she's going to commit to it and get him what he needs. No matter how hard it is or how many laws she has to break. After all, she already took him-- anything that comes after is just another cherry on top.
Now, if she can just do all that without getting caught, that'd be great. And where do all these other children keep coming from?
(Or: Etsu sees Shoto Todoroki in the hospital and thinks he looks very alone. After asking if he wants to come with her, she whisks him away to raise him. It goes a lot better than you'd think. Even if she does get a couple more kids than she bargained for in the end.)

Summary
Shen Jiu is in the middle of a heist (read: helping a new prostitute escape before her virginity is auctioned off), only to be interrupted by his stalker.
Liu Qingge comes to the incorrect conclusion that his unbearable shixiong is a vigilante and has done this multiple times before. This must be the real reason he started cultivating so late. Why else would he look so calm and poised when smuggling a slave girl out of harm's way?
While Shen Jiu can allow the split second decision to help out or the money for the meimei's new life, he does mind when Liu Qingge decides this is just a thing they do now: liberating slaves and encouraging them toward a life of cultivation and immortality.
