Summary
Pre third ascension, XL's bad luck strikes and he gets captured by a group of mortals and used as a human sacrifice to summon a demon. This "demon" is HC, who sees an injured XL tied up and immediately loses it, getting rid of all the mortals before whisking his god away. XL assumes the demon is saving him as a meal for later, or maybe plans to keep him as a servant. HC does his best to make sure his honored guest is comfortable and has adequate accommodations, meanwhile, XL is continuously pleasantly surprised by how well his captor/new master treats him. submitted by Cour102

Usually, Hua Cheng was the one to take the initiative, although there were days when he was bold enough to do so and reverse their usual roles.
"Is this too much?" he wondered. Marriage was a union considered sacred.

Jun Wu stopped and scanned the last name on the list. Xie Lian thought he saw a slight frown but it must have been his imagination. The emperor sighed and closed the scroll to pronounce the name of the last defied god. "Xie Lian."
