Grace always felt as if her heart was missing something, like a puzzle piece that got lost. When The Daily Prophet headlines that Sirius Black had escaped Azkaban the summer before her third year at Hogwarts, Grace started questioning everything. Slowly, gingerly, asking permission with her eyes and the barest brush of the tips of her fingers, she reaches for his hand. He can’t really help the way his whole body stiffens in response, just a little, just for a moment. But, jaw tight, he nods, and she slips her fingers into his palm and holds his hand, squeezing lightly.
