Branch was pressured into downloading the dating app. He’s not bitter about it (he's totally bitter about it), but he figures he’ll match with no one and quietly delete it in a week.
And then she messages him.
She’s chaos. Sunshine. Glitter and gifs and unfiltered joy. She types like a runaway ukulele. He nearly unmatches.
But then she sends a question so absurd it actually makes him laugh — and somehow, just like that, he’s hooked.
Now he’s texting a stranger who gets under his skin in the most infuriatingly perfect way. Who makes him feel seen. Who makes him want to hit send on feelings he’s never said out loud.
The only problem? He already knows her in real life. And he cannot stand her. (…Except maybe he can.)

Request from ham potion on my Smut requests fic that I wanted to turn into a chaptered fic.
Poppy thought Creek loved her—or at least liked her. Enough to want to be with her. Enough to not laugh behind her back about how pathetic she is. But when she overhears the truth—how he’s only using her to become king, how he could never really want someone like her—everything shatters.
She runs. Into the forest. Into herself. And into Branch.
Branch doesn’t like people. Doesn’t trust them. Definitely doesn’t touch them. But when he finds her sobbing in the woods, crown slipping off her head and heart breaking in her hands, something inside him shifts.
He doesn’t want her title. He doesn’t want her throne.
He just wants her.
And for the first time, Poppy starts to wonder what it would feel like—to be wanted like that. To be chosen like this.
A slow-burn hurt/comfort romance full of healing, heat, and the kind of love that doesn’t need a crown to be real. -
