Summary
The muggles blow up a ley line, setting off a chain reaction of magic. Prophecies happen. In order to avoid misplaced persecution and genocide, wixen and other magical species flee Earth via a magic portal that chugs power like a dehydrated person chugs water. (Don't chug water if you're seriously dehydrated, you'll make yourself sick. Sip it.) Unfortunately, said portal is more than likely to kill whoever walks through it. Guess who's the only one guaranteed to survive it? Harry is not impressed.
